1. Information We Collect

a. Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

• Email address
• Authentication credentials, including Sign in with Apple
• Account metadata, such as account ID and subscription status

b. Location Information

With your permission, we collect:

• Precise location (GPS)
• Saved locations, such as home, work, or contacts' addresses

This data is used to:

• Identify nearby offenders
• Generate safety reports
• Monitor saved locations

c. Photos and Face Data

If you use face search features, we may process:

• Photos you upload
• Derived face embeddings used for comparison

Data handling:

• Uploaded photos are processed transiently and deleted after use
• Face data is used only to compare against publicly available offender records
• We do not use this data for identity verification, profiling, or unrelated purposes

d. Contact Scanning and Shared Reports

Contact scanning is optional and requires your permission. When you choose to scan, ProAct uploads information from the contacts you allow the app to access to our servers. This may include:

• Names and nicknames
• Phone numbers and email addresses
• Postal addresses and geographic coordinates derived from those addresses

We use this information to compare contacts with public offender records and generate safety reports showing potential matches and nearby offenders. Uploaded contacts and scan results are stored on our servers and linked to your registered or guest account. A copy of your scan report may also be cached on your device so you can view it again. See Section 5 for retention and deletion details.

We do not sell your contacts or use them for advertising. Scanning your contacts does not send messages to them.

If you choose to share a report, we also process the recipient details you provide and delivery metadata, such as send status, to send the report you initiate and track its delivery.

e. Device and Usage Data

We may collect:

• Device type and OS version
• App usage events
• Crash logs and diagnostics

f. Subscription and Payment Data

• Payments are processed by Apple via In-App Purchases
• We do not store or have access to your payment information

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

• Provide core functionality, including location scanning, reports, and alerts
• Match faces against public offender databases
• Compare contacts with public offender records and retain contact safety reports for your use
• Deliver reports you choose to share
• Improve app performance and reliability
• Manage subscriptions and entitlements
• Detect, prevent, and respond to misuse or abuse

3. Offender Data and Accuracy Disclaimer

ProAct aggregates offender data from publicly available sources, including:

• National and state sex offender registries
• Government-operated public safety databases

Important:

• All offender records are provided by their respective states or governing authorities
• Data accuracy is determined by those sources, and errors may occur
• Users should rely on official state registries for authoritative information

Corrections and removals:

• Requests to correct or remove offender data should be directed to the appropriate state or governing body
• You may also contact us through the protected contact page, and we will review requests and coordinate where appropriate

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share information in the following cases:

a. Service Providers

We may use trusted third-party services for:

• Cloud hosting
• Analytics
• Messaging, including SMS or email delivery

These providers only access data necessary to perform their services.

b. Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required to:

• Comply with applicable laws or regulations
• Respond to legal requests
• Protect user safety or rights
• Prevent fraud or misuse

c. User-Initiated Sharing

When you share a report:

• The selected recipient receives the information you chose to send
• This may include location-based safety information

5. Data Retention

We retain account information, saved locations, uploaded contacts, and scan results while needed to provide the service. Contact scans are not processed only on your device: uploaded contact details and results remain associated with your account on our servers until replaced or deleted. Revoking Contacts permission or uninstalling the app does not delete data already uploaded.

When you request account or guest-data deletion in the app, we immediately invalidate existing sign-in sessions and disable push delivery to that account. Your account and associated personal data, including uploaded contacts, scan results, and saved locations, are scheduled for permanent deletion after 30 days.

For registered accounts, signing back in successfully during that 30-day recovery period cancels the deletion request and restores the account. After the recovery period, the account can no longer be restored.

We may retain limited records where necessary to meet legal or regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. Apple separately manages its payment and subscription records. Uploaded photos are handled as described in Section 1(c).

6. Your Rights and Controls

You can:

• Open Account in the app and choose Delete Account, or Delete Guest Data if you use ProAct as a guest, to begin the deletion process described in Section 5. You do not need to contact support to make this request.
• Remove saved locations in the app
• Change Contacts, Location, Camera, Photos, and notification permissions in your device settings. Turning off a permission stops future access through that permission; it does not remove data already stored on our servers.

Subscriptions: Deleting your ProAct account does not cancel an Apple subscription. To stop future billing, cancel the subscription separately in your Apple account settings.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard safeguards, including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS)
• Secure storage systems
• Access controls and monitoring

No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Age Restrictions

ProAct is intended for adult use only.

• Individuals under 18 are explicitly prohibited from using the app
• Parents or guardians may use ProAct to help protect their family

We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Acceptable Use and Enforcement

ProAct is designed to provide informational safety tools only.

Users agree not to:

• Harass, intimidate, or target individuals
• Misuse offender data in violation of applicable laws

Enforcement:

• Violations may result in account suspension or termination
• We reserve the right, at our discretion, to cooperate with law enforcement and state prosecutors in cases involving illegal activity, including harassment or misuse of the platform

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted at www.getproact.com/privacy.html.
